College Football: Week 6 in Review

Alabama doing Alabama Things:

Nick Saban having a loaded team is just about as reliable as the sun coming up in the morning. Once again, the Crimson Tide manhandled a very solid Arkansas squad on Saturday night. Led by cornerback Minka Fitzpatrick (3 ints) the Tide completely shutdown the Arkansas running attack and play action passing game. It goes without saying, but watch out for Alabama as we come down the stretch.. another filthy defense, dual threat quarterback, and the best coach in the game provides a fearsome trio for the rest of the country.

Rocky Top’s Luck Runs Out:

In an absolutely wild game, Tennessee failed to leave College Station unbeaten. After escaping Georgia on a miracle Hail Mary, the Volunteers were unable to complete a three touchdown comeback in an effort to improve to 6-0. On the other hand, is Texas A&M legit? I’m not sold. Tennessee had a whopping seven turnovers and yet the Aggies failed to put Tennessee away at the end. Furthermore, Vol’s running back Alvin Kamara absolutely shredded the Aggies front 7. The Aggies may have a rude awakening in store when they face Alabama on the 22nd.

FSU – Miami is Back:

The Seminoles may have defeated The U for the 6th straight time but there is little doubt that Miami is on the rise. Mark Richt has brought swagger back to Coral Gables and he has those kids playing with pride. The country has taken notice of the Hurricanes and Jimbo Fisher’s squad should as well.

Pretender of The Week: Washington Huskies. The hype around this team is unbelievable. You destroyed the corpse of the Oregon Ducks. Great.. the Pac-12 blows. Watch out for their trip to Utah on the 29th.
